OREANDA-NEWS   President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has proposed to Germany to restore bilateral relations. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.

He acknowledged that it would not be easy to do this, but stressed that normalization of relations between the two countries meets the interests of their peoples. "We propose to remove border and other barriers together in order to restore bilateral relations," the Belarusian leader said.

He pointed out that Minsk has extended the visa-free regime for citizens of the European Union (EU) member states, including Germany.

Earlier, Lukashenko said that the main task for Belarus is to prevent an escalation of relations with Poland. He said that he had decided to postpone the Zapad-2025 exercises in order not to provoke Warsaw.
