OREANDA-NEWS The US Department of Defense, as part of an updated contract with Raytheon, has increased the number of Tomahawk cruise missiles purchased to 350 units, according to the Pentagon.

Initially, it was planned to produce only 131 rockets. The updated contract is estimated at $785.2 million. Deliveries for the U.S. Navy, Army, and Marine Corps, as well as two foreign customers who are allocating $500 million for missile production, are expected to be completed in January 2029.

Raytheon will produce Tomahawk cruise missiles in the new Block V variant, which includes an improved navigation and communications system. Like the basic version, the missile will have a range of 1.6 thousand km.
