OREANDA-NEWS In the first nine months of the service's operation, Russians submitted a total of 18.61 million applications for self-locking loans. This is reported by TASS with reference to data from the United Credit Bureau (OKB).
Citizens are mostly interested in the format of a complete self-ban on loans, analysts said. The installation of this type of ban affected the overwhelming number of applications — 16.97 million, or 91.2 percent of the total. Another 4.2 percent (787.24 thousand) accounted for the ban on online disbursements in banks and microfinance organizations (MFIs).
A total ban on issuance in MFIs affected 1.5 percent (276.14 thousand) of all applications, a total ban on issuance in MFIs and online issuance in banks - 1.4 percent, or 251.61 thousand. The remaining 1.7 percent accounted for other combinations of self-locking types available to citizens, the experts concluded.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko announced the extremely high demand of Russians for such a service. He called the number of people who have self-imposed restrictions on loans crazy. Against this background, the government plans to extend the practice of self-incarceration to other areas of life, the Vice Prime minister concluded. The service itself has been working on Public Services since March 1. It allows you to prohibit the registration of all consumer loans and loans in your name.
