An attempt was made on the life of a lieutenant General of the Russian Defense Ministry in Moscow

OREANDA-NEWS An unknown man tried to shoot Russian Defense Ministry Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev in the north-west of Moscow, he was hospitalized, said Svetlana Petrenko, an official representative of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (TFR).
A criminal case has been opened in connection with the incident under Part 3 of Article 30, part 1 of Article 105 (attempted murder), part 1 of Article 222 (illegal trafficking in firearms), Petrenko told reporters on Friday.
According to her, on February 6, in an apartment building located on the Volokolamsk Highway in Moscow, "an unidentified person fired several shots at a man and fled the scene."
"The victim has been hospitalized in one of the city's hospitals," Petrenko said.
She noted that currently investigators and criminologists of the capital's Investigative Committee are working at the scene, video surveillance footage is being studied, and eyewitnesses of the incident are being questioned.
Investigative actions and operational search measures are being carried out to identify the person or persons involved in the crime, the representative of the TFR said.
