OREANDA-NEWS  Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has developed a plan for the phased annexation of the Gaza Strip in the event that the radical Palestinian Islamist group Hamas rejects the ceasefire agreement. This is reported by Haaretz.

"According to the plan, Israel will announce that it is giving Hamas several days to agree on a cease—fire, and in case of refusal, it will begin annexing territories in the strip," the report said.

It is reported that the plan provides for the annexation of the buffer zone first, and then the northern areas of the Gaza Strip adjacent to Israeli cities. At the same time, the publication emphasizes that this initiative was approved by the administration of US President Donald Trump.

Earlier, the Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority, Mohammed Mustafa, said that the militants of the radical Islamist movement Hamas should surrender their weapons and transfer control of Palestine to the legitimate authorities.
