OREANDA-NEWS  Western countries use Ukraine as a battering ram against Russia. This was stated by the ex-leader of the Opposition Platform — For Life party banned in Ukraine Viktor Medvedchuk, RIA Novosti reports.

"The collective West immediately viewed it as a battering ram against Russia, and hundreds of billions of dollars were used for this, first for indoctrination of the population, and then for armaments," the politician said.

According to him, for this reason, Ukraine was not destined to become a bridge between Europe and Russia, and the situation itself benefited corrupt officials, since corruption is an inherent curse of the modern Ukrainian state.

Earlier, Medvedchuk said that the Ukrainian authorities had got rid of the opposition, so it was difficult to overthrow President Volodymyr Zelensky. He added that Kiev hinders the work of anti-corruption agencies in the country.
