OREANDA-NEWS  Russian Deputy Security Council Chairman Dmitry Medvedev commented on the words of US President Donald Trump in his Telegram channel.

The American leader had previously addressed his Russian counterpart, threatening that he was "playing with fire." According to the head of the White House, the fact that he became president of the United States after his predecessor Joe Biden saved Russia from some "really very bad things."

"I only know one really bad thing, and that's World War III. I hope Trump understands this!"— said Medvedev.

Earlier, Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Russian leader, said that Russia would ensure its security regardless of Trump's statements and the stage at which the peace process in Ukraine would be.
