OREANDA-NEWS In Poland, they wanted to get the European Union (EU) to cancel the visa-free regime for several countries. This was stated by the deputy head of the Polish Interior Ministry, Czeslaw Mroczek, on the radio station RMF24.
The politician noted that the country's authorities will send a corresponding application within the framework of the Schengen Agreement. Mrocek did not specify which countries he was referring to, explaining that the cancellation would affect only those states whose citizens regularly violate Polish laws.
He cited Colombia as an example — in 2024, Warsaw obliged its residents to apply for work visas if the purpose of the trip was appropriate. At the same time, visa-free entry for tourists from this Latin American country has not yet been canceled.
Earlier, the Polish government requested that transport visa-free travel for Ukraine be included in the EU Council's agenda. This was stated by the head of the Polish Committee for the Protection of carriers and employers of transport Waldemar FMD.
