OREANDA-NEWS  Russia is negotiating with Afghanistan to attract migrant workers. Gul Hassan, the country's ambassador to Moscow, spoke about such a discussion in an interview with TASS, stressing that Kabul is ready to offer qualified and professional personnel.

"Negotiations have already taken place between the two countries and there are grounds to expect positive results," the diplomat stressed. He also recalled that Afghanistan has a young population, and the government is interested in supplying labor as a source of income.

Earlier, Roman Ignatiev, director of development at Mega-Personal outsourcing company, said that migrant workers from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and other former Soviet republics have become too expensive for Russian employers, so they are looking for a replacement in non-traditional areas.

One of the prospects remains the import of workers from India. Boris Titov, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Relations with International Organizations for achieving sustainable Development Goals, suggested that about 40,000 Indian workers will come to the country in 2026.

In November, the discussion of the importation of migrants from Afghanistan was confirmed in Tatarstan. However, the Russian Republic claims that no specific decisions have been made, and negotiations do not necessarily end effectively.
