OREANDA-NEWS  The EAEU is negotiating a free trade zone with India, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk told reporters.

He recalled that today the EAEU has free trade agreements with Vietnam, Serbia, and Iran. Last year, three such agreements were also signed with Mongolia, the UAE, and Indonesia.

"Today, our market, to which our producers have access, is about 730 million people. Of course, we are negotiating and expanding these opportunities. Negotiations are underway with India, there are also plans to hold talks with Jordan, and we are considering a number of African states. I also have thoughts about Pakistan. Well, today the main negotiations are underway with India," Overchuk said.

In late November, India and the EAEU held the first round of negotiations on a possible free trade agreement. According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the creation of such a free trade zone would help boost commercial ties between India and Russia.
