OREANDA-NEWS  The total replacement need of the Russian economy for workers is 12.2 million people for the next seven years. This was stated by the Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov. He was quoted by Interfax.

According to him, about 1.7 million people need to be involved in the economy every year. It is estimated that 11.7 million are needed to replace those who retire, and about half a million are employees who are needed in connection with the emergence of additional jobs.

Earlier it was reported that, according to Kotyakov, in the next seven years, engineers, IT specialists, doctors, teachers and scientists will be the most in demand professions. The Ministry of Labor found that workers with secondary vocational education account for 65 percent of the total staffing requirement.

According to Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, in Russia the number of vacancies per unemployed person in certain working professions has increased from 6 to 25 in recent years.
