OREANDA-NEWS  In 2025, the Southern Federal District of Russia lost ground in grain harvesting for the first time in several years. This is reported by Kommersant (Kommersant).

"For the first time in several years, the harvest here was lower than in the Volga region and the center of Russia," the newspaper notes.

The reasons for the record crop failure were a series of droughts and a reduction in investment in Russian agriculture, Kommersant points out.

Previously, "Lenta.<url>" reminded that, according to popular beliefs, John the Baptist, one of the greatest saints in Orthodoxy, sends crop failures for non-observance of fasting.
