OREANDA-NEWS Employees of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Transbaikalia stopped the activities of an illegal mining farm, the material damage to a uranium mining enterprise in the Priargunsky district of the territory previously amounted to more than 5 million rubles, the press service of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Trans-Baikal Territory reported.

Security forces have identified a network of specialized computing equipment used for mining cryptocurrencies. The power supply was carried out due to unauthorized connection to the electric grid of the Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Association (PPGHO) named after E. P. Slavsky, electricity was consumed unaccounted for, and its actual volumes were underestimated. During the searches, law enforcement officers seized the equipment.

"Employees of the regional FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs suppressed the activities of an illegal mining farm, which caused significant material damage to PJSC PPGHO. According to preliminary estimates, the damage caused to the enterprise amounted to more than 5 million rubles," the report says.
