OREANDA-NEWS. On Aug 16 2007 the quality management system of Smolensk Nuclear Power Plant got ISO 9001:2000. Smolensk NPP is the first Rosenergoatom plant to have received such a certificate, reported the press-centre of Smolensk NPP.

Oct 15–18 2007 the plant’s quality management system underwent the first inspection after the certification. The experts came to see if the system operated well and was being improved. They pointed out the following positive aspects of the plant’s work: the management and the personnel of Smolensk NPP are highly responsible and competent, the plant’s quality management system complies with the requirements of the certificate, safety and quality control measures are carried out timely and effectively, the plant uses progressive management methods, particularly, network repair schedule.

The inspectors found no deficiencies.
