Presently, the constructors are installing equipment, pipelines and fittings of the launching complex, mounting the automated process control systems, laying and connecting the control cables. The equipment of the control panel, the reactor process instrument control boards and the safety systems have already been installed.

The chemical treatment system is operative and is being used for the washing and hydro-testing of technological systems. The plant already has a stock of desalinated water for filling the cooling pond. Presently, the constructors are preparing for the filling and for the washing of the pipes of the reactor and auxiliary systems.

Vice President of Atomstroyexport G.Kumani says that the transition to the hydro-testing and circulatory washing stage has become possible due to the effective interaction of the Russian and Indian parties. He says that Kudankulam NPP project is an example of fruitful cooperation between India and Russia.
