Belarus to Create Best Environment for Armenian Businessmen
OREANDA-NEWS. June 17, 2009. The most enabling business environment will be created for Armenian businessmen in Belarus, said President Alexander Lukashenko as he met with representatives of Armenian business circles, reported the Official website president.gov.by.
While on a working visit to Armenia in March 2009, the President proposed that Armenian businessmen carry out investment and other kinds of projects in Belarus.
The head of the Armenian Multi Group, Gagik Tsarukyan, and the director-general of Ardimpex, Robert Tonoyan, have come to Minsk to see investment opportunities in Belarus.
In the course of the meeting with these businessmen, Alexander Lukashenko said, ‘Over the past 2-3 years we have increased trade with Armenia tenfold, with a country that was virtually “locked”’. The President said Belarus and Armenia have managed to find ways for trade and build it up, which means the two countries have great cooperation prospects.
‘I will welcome efforts of Armenian businessmen. Armenian and Serbian businessmen will be of priority importance for us; this decision I took early this year. We will create the best possible conditions for doing business in Belarus, especially for those who will be investing funds here,’ said Alexander Lukashenko.
