OREANDA-NEWS. February 16, 2010. Estonian Air in cooperation with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines had its first flight from Vilnius to Amsterdam. Interest towards the route is high, which shows from the cabin factor of 75% for the first flight and the good dynamics of incoming bookings, reported the press-centre of Estonian Air.

"The Lithuanian market has a huge potential, backed up substantially by the efforts of Lithuanian Government and Vilnius airport management to increase the attractiveness of the airport. In long term, we would like to increase the frequency of the Vilnius-Amsterdam route and open new routes from Vilnius to other European cities, "said Andrus Aljas, Estonian Air President and CEO.
 
In addition to the fact that Amsterdam is one of the most attractive and visited towns in Europe, the Amsterdam airport opens a door to the whole world,“ added Aljas.
 
Cooperation between Estonian Air and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines started already from spring last year, when Estonian Air started flights on Tallinn-Amsterdam route. The cooperation agreement on Vilnius-Amsterdam route was signed in January this year.
 
Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is one of the biggest and most convenient hubs in Europe, serving more than 100 airlines and offering flights to hundreds of towns in the entire world.
 
The most comfortable way of transportation from Amsterdam airport to downtown, located 17 kilometres away, is by train. The travelling time is 15 minutes, a ticket can be purchased from the main hall of the airport.
 
During 12-28 February 2010, Estonian Air is serving the route with three flights a week, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Starting from 1 March 2010, Estonian Air will increase the weekly frequencies to six flights a week, serving the route on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

All Economy Class passengers are served complimentary refreshments: snacks, coffee, tea, water and juice on flights between Vilnius and Amsterdam. Passengers with classical Business Class and Flexible Economy Class fare tickets are served hot onboard meals.
