OREANDA-NEWS. August 9, 2010. According to the results of meeting of the two-side intergovernmental commission in Moscow Head of Ministry of Energy Sergey Shmatko reported that Russia and Kuwait are going to sign an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the nuclear power industry.

Minister said that “there is an agreement on starting of drafting intergovernmental agreements in the field of nuclear power cooperation”.

Shmatko added that the documents may be signed on the corporate level. He added that Kuwait is interested in cooperation with Russia in this field.

In his turn, Minister of oil and information of Kuwait Akhmed-Abdalla Al-Akhmed As-Sabakh reported that some weeks ago the Kuwait delegation had been in Moscow which had discussed the opportunity of signing an agreement on peaceful usage of the nuclear power.

“I hope that the work on the document will be speeded up and it will be signed in the nearest future”, – he added.
