OREANDA-NEWS. February 07, 2011. The International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA) issued in 2010 more than 223 thousand cards, according to the press service of the bank, reported the press-centre of IBA.

At present, the number of active bank cards is around 1.8 million units. The volume of card transactions increased during the year by 40 million manats and amounted up to 2.7 billion manats. In 2002, the number of bank cards was only 28,000 units, while their turnover was at a level of 71 million dollars.

"The availability of our own processing center allows us to improve the quality of customer services and deliver new products to meet modern requirements," – says the statement.

The IBA's ATM Network covers over 50 cities, including Baku, Nakhchivan, Sumgayit, Ganja, Shirvan, Mingachevir, and consists of 605 ATMs. In Baku, 65 information kiosks have also been installed. They carry out all card transactions, except for withdrawals.

The IBA is also improving the acquiring system. To date, over 2500 sales points and points of service have been involved in servicing of cards and conditions for using cards in the shops, restaurants and hotels were created.
