License of Birlikbank Revoked
OREANDA-NEWS. February 07, 2011. The license of “Birlikbank” OJSC has been revoked at the decision of the Management Board of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The license No 154, dated 30.06.1993 issued to the “Birlikbank” OJSC for banking operations has been provoked in accordance with Articles 16.1, 16.1.8, 16.1.9 and 16.1.18 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Banks, reported the press-centre of CBA.
Under the decision, a temporary administrator was appointed to “Birlikbank” OJSC. The temporary administrator is operating in the relevant address of the bank: (23, Nobel Avenue, Khatai district, Baku city).
To note, as of 28 January 2011, the number of banks operating in the Republic is 44, of which 1 is a state bank, and 43 are commercial banks.
