Aeroflot, Aerosvit Conclude Code-Sharing Agreement
OREANDA-NEWS. March 17, 2011. The agreement between JSC "Aeroflot – Russian Airlines" and "Aerosvit", an Ukrainian carrier, about joint operations on the Moscow-Kiev, Moscow-Dnepropetrovsk, and Moscow-Simferopol routes has come into effect. In accordance with the terms of the Agreement, Aeroflot may place its marketing code on tickets and sell tickets for Aerosvit flights as for its own flights, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.
Due to integration of the route network, passengers of both airlines now have new options for flights between Russian and Ukrainian cities and from Ukraine to South-East Asia and Middle East. Owing to the balanced schedule and convenient connections of joint flights, the carriers’ capacities for uplifting transit passengers have extended significantly.
The new agreement is an example of the further fostering of business and friendly relations between the two states that has been witnessed lately. It also allows the airlines to increase significantly the number of flights. Up to seven daily flights of both airlines will connect capital-city airports Sheremetyevo and Borispol.
