Mobile TeleSystems OJSC (“MTS” or “the Company” – NYSE: MBT), the leading telecommunications provider in Russia and the CIS, announces that “COMSTAR – United TeleSystems” JSC (“Comstar” – LSE: CMST), a majority-owned subsidiary of MTS, issued a release confirming that, following the announcements on February 24, 2011 and March 21, 2011 regarding Comstar’s intention to seek cancellation of the listing of its global depositary receipts (“GDRs”), the UK Listing Authority has today cancelled the listing of Comstar’s Regulation S GDRs (ISIN: US47942P2083) and Rule 144A GDRs (ISIN: US47972P1093) from the Official List with effect from 8.00 am GMT. As a result, the GDRs will no longer be admitted to trading on the London Stock Exchange.
