One year after its alloy plate & strip line was put into operation, Baosteel has independently developed high temperature corrosion resistant alloy, nickel based alloy and others among five categories of dozens of varies some of which have filled domestic blanks. So far, Baosteel has become the company with the most complete product varieties for alloy plates & strips in the world, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.

Alloy plates & strips are of special steel products which have been widely used in petroleum, chemical, atomic power, ocean exploitation and aviation/space and other high-grade, high-precision, advanced fields due to its excellent performance. It's been long time that due to high demand of production technology, these kinds of products were mainly imported with high price and long delivery time and this situation has seriously curbed our national industry's development. Therefore, by building up the alloy plate & strip line and successfully realized line production in the first half of year 2009, Baosteel stay firmly rooted in the present while looking ahead to the future. 

The alloy plate & strip line of the special steel business unit is of high performance alloy plate & strip line in the country. The handling of the line, research of product posed huge challenge for the the special steel business unit. Therefore, one team was set up by the production/sales/research departments of the special steel business unit to strive for breakthroughs. Based on sufficient research work on downstream industry market and customers, this team members adopt the method of simultaneous analysis/experiment/production to explore and adjust the unique process technology continuously for difficulties of different products. Finally Baosteel has obtained core process technology of nickel based corrosion resistant alloy and electric slag flat ingot etc. 

Furthermore, the special steel business unit aimed at long time imported and high end alloy plate & strip products and actively expand its product varieties and specification. After making huge efforts, the alloy plate & strip line has successfully trial produced pure titanium, nickel based corrosion resistant alloy, special structure steel, stainless steel, precision alloy and others among five categories, which are regarded as excellent compared with its counterparts in the world. After the high grade products were put into operation, they have been commonly acknowledged by customers. So far, the accumulated sales of all kinds of alloy plate & strip products have topped 30, 000 tons with above 50 customers. Some of these have substituted imported products.
