OREANDA-NEWS. July 04, 2011. The Phase II of Shougang Caofeidian Project has started. More than 1000 tons of color coated sheets from Baosteel are adopted for the construction of main plant buildings of the first project. Thus, the further cooperation between the two sides starts. Since 2007, Baosteel has supplied more than 35 thousand tons of color coated sheets for the construction of main plant buildings of the Phase I and Phase II successively and has become the largest supplier of color coated sheets for Shougang Caofeidian Project. Moreover, this is so far the largest supply of color coated sheets for the single project in the history of Baosteel. During more than four years of cooperation, there are no objection with the quality of Baosteel's products, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.

Shougang Caofeidian Project is located in Caofeidian Industrial Zone south of Tangshan, Hebei Province, Bohai Bay. And the construction of the project began in 2007. The color coated sheets are adopted in the construction of all the plant buildings. Furthermore, the time is long, the construction starting point is high and the demand for the the color coated sheets is large.

There are a number of color coated sheet manufacturers in the Bohai Bay region in China. Therefore, the competition for participating in the engineering supply is very fierce. By means of the brand effect, high cost performance and service advantages, Baosteel acquired its qualification for supplying color coated sheets as early as the Shougang Shouqin Project. And the excellent performance in the project laid the foundation for the further cooperation. 

The color coated sheets for the Phase I of Shougang Caofeidian Project adopted the ordinary color coated sheets. And the color requirements are relatively homogeneous, so the production for this mature products is not difficult for Baosteel. However, the services are not reduced because the products are general. In the process of supplying products, a team was set up, which was composed of Sheet Sales Department of Baosteel Co., Ltd., Northern Branch of Baosteel International, Marketing Management Department, Manufacturing Department, Cold Rolling Mill, etc. The team gave full play to the collaboration advantages, provided customized services and created more value for the Owner and the project construction.

At the beginning of the Phase I, the construction work quantities of plant buildings were large and resource needs were urgent. In order to ensure that the product supply could keep up with the construction schedule, the team arranged the emergency supply channels for the contract. Moreover, the project tracking was carried out to help them communicating with the Owner in time . And then the emergency response plan was prepared. The Caofeidian Project is close to the west coast of Bohai Bay and the PH value of the air there is strong. It is easy to cause corrosion on the color-coated sheets. Therefore, in the premise of ensuring product quality, Baosteel made the unit at the its best to provide the customized color coated sheet with thickened zinc layer for the Owner. By this, the corrosion resistance of the products was ensured and the service life was improved. 

In the meanwhile, the value-added services of the team was also affirmed by the Owner. At the beginning of the supply, the products were transported by land and water instead of by freight to reduce the costs of the Owner. Considering that the turnover field of the project is small, North Branch of Baosteel International set up their own exclusive warehouse as the "Posthouse". In addition, they also established the system of return visits from time to time to communicate on the site, deeply understand the needs and listen to the views of the Owner. And this service mode won acclaims and created favorable conditions for the cooperation for the follow-up projects. 

It is worth mentioning that the high-end steel grade of Baosteel-Fluorocarbon Aluminium-zinc Color Coated Sheet is firstly adopted in the first project of the Phase II. The corrosion resistance of the products is further improved and meets the needs of construction and use.
