OREANDA-NEWS. August 10, 2011. Talas Copper Gold LLC has announced the appointment of Maksat Kobonbaev as Director of Government and Corporate Affairs.

Talas Copper Gold (TCG) is a company registered in the Kyrgyz Republic with four exploration licenses for gold and other metals in the Talas Region. TCG is a joint venture between Gold Fields Ltd (South Africa) and Orsu Metals Corporation (UK), with Gold Fields as managing partner.  Exploration is focused on the Talas region in four license areas: Taldybulak, Barkol, Kentash, and Korgontash.

Maksat Kobonbaev is a Kyrgyz national with international education and experience. He holds Ph.D. and Master of Public Policy and Administration from the United States. Prior to joining TCG, he worked at the HQ of the World Bank in Washington DC and recently provided consulting for the Asian Development Bank. He started his career in 2000 in the State Committee for Foreign Investment and Economic Development of the Kyrgyz Republic.
