OREANDA-NEWS. November 1, 2011. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading IT services, consulting and business solutions organisation, announced, today, that the company has received the 'Supplier of the Year' award from Owens Corning.

Owens Corning’s Supplier of the Year award recognises the contribution and commitment of its finest partners. A panel was set up by Owens Corning to evaluate the suppliers and announce results. Satisfying the judges’ criteria of value creation for the company, TCS emerged as the winner following a stringent selection process. The award was presented to TCS by Steve Nowak, vice president, global sourcing, Owens Corning, at Owens Corning's inaugural Supplier Day recognition event held on September 21, 2011.

David Johns, SVP, chief information officer and chief shared services officer, Owens Corning, said, “Owens Corning is very proud to select Tata Consultancy Services as our Supplier of the Year in the indirect supplier category in recognition of the company’s best-in-class services as well as the expertise and commitment they bring to our partnership every day.”

Milind Lakkad, manufacturing ISU head, Tata Consultancy Services, was invited to join the key supplier panel along with two manufacturing companies. He presented TCS’s views on the Owens Corning-TCS relationship. “TCS is thrilled to be recognised as Supplier of the Year by such a dynamic and innovative partner as Owens Corning,” said Mr Lakkad. “The honour reinforces our dedication to deliver our experience and innovation to help drive growth and opportunity for our customers.”

Since 2008, TCS has been providing services globally to Owens Corning, across multiple service lines including infrastructure services, shared services in F&A, manufacturing application support and IT services including enterprise solution in SAP ECC6.0 implementations in North America and Europe.
