OREANDA-NEWS. December 01, 2011. The State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine has constructed over 400 km of forest roads this year. The forest industrialists promised to build twice more next year. This is one of the priorities of industry development in the near future. This was stressed by the Head of department Victor Sivets at a press conference at UKRINFORM news agency.

"The value of forest tract is difficult to overestimate. Besides, that the developed infrastructure promotes rising of economic indexes of industry at the expense of free access to a mature wood, wood "arteries" have also fireproof purposes. In the case of forest fire, specialists will be able to freely reach the seats of fire, which greatly increase the chances of time to eliminate the fire," the Chairman of the State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine Victor Sivets has noted.

In addition, as he said, forest roads have also important social factor. They connect remote settlements. The proper modern equipment requires for their construction. That's why forestry enterprises of the State Forest Resources Agency gradually resume road construction machinery.
"This year for the first time to modernize technical equipment, funds in the amount of UAH 60 million allocated by the state.

By results of tender procedures, the State Forest Resources Agency will buy 33 units of road-building engineering. The forest enterprises will be replenished by tracked excavator JCB JS 220 with the size of a bucket of 1 cubic metre and additional planning buckets, and also tracked bulldozers Caterpillar D6N XL," Victor Sivets has informed.
