OREANDA-NEWS. December 07, 2011. Ukraine and Tajikistan have expressed willingness to deepen bilateral economic cooperation in various fields. This was discussed during the meeting Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov and Minister of Energy and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan Sherali Gul.

"We are interested to develop bilateral cooperation between our countries with good volume of trade", - Mykola Azarov said, noting that today the trade turnover between Ukraine and Tajikistan is only USD 50 million. That does not meet the capacity of countries.

Mykola Azarov noted that Ukraine in the framework of CIS countries signed an agreement on free trade area, noting the importance of completion of the implementation of Tajikistan's international legal obligations of a free trade regime with Ukraine. "Tajikistan has signed this agreement, and at present no obstacles to its realization", - the Prime Minister said.

The parties, in particular, supported the development of bilateral cooperation in energy, electricity, agriculture and industry. First of all, it was the interest of both countries to establish joint production of dairy and fruit processing and textile products.
