Head of FAS Visited Supreme Arbitration Court
OREANDA-NEWS. January 30, 2012. Igor Artemyev: “Due to cooperation of antimonopoly authorities and Arbitration Courts, competition policy in Russia is developing more effectively”. The Head of FAS Russia Igor Artemyev made this statement at the final meeting of the Supreme Arbitration Court marking 20th anniversary of Arbitration Courts, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
Igor Artemyev dwelt upon the most important rulings on the Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation on cases initiated upon the Antimonopoly Service. He pointed out that decisions regarding oil companies, trading networks, a precedent case on Mosleskhoz, etc., were embedded in the “third antimonopoly law”. For instance, the new package of laws introduced a concept of cartels, clarified the parameters of monopolistically high prices, and determined the procedures for calculating administrative fines for legal services by Arbitration Courts and FAS Russia.
“Due to cooperation of antimonopoly authorities and Arbitration Courts, competition policy in Russia is developing more effectively. In our turn, we try to reduce the burden upon the Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation and in the “third antimonopoly package” we introduced a concept of warning for stopping actions that can violated the :aw “On Competition…” We did it in order to cut down on the number of cases examined by Courts under Article 10 of the Law”, pointed out the Head of FAS Russia.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Constitution Court of the Russian Federation, Valery Zorkin; the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Lebedyev; Prosecutor General of the Rusian Federation, Yuri Chaika, the Minister of Justice, Alexander Konovalov; an advisor to the President of the Russian Federation on legal issues, Vladimir Yakovlev; the Director of the Federal Service of Court Bailiffs, Artur Parfyonchikov, and others.
