OREANDA-NEWS. February 29, 2012. SEB Internet Bank is the best in both Estonia and Lithuania, as shown by the Baltic E-Banking Report 2011 – the quality study on e-banking and mobile banking in Baltic banks – conducted for the ninth time, reported the press-centre of SEB.

“The year 2011 was one of significant developments for SEB – over the course of twelve months, we thoroughly updated the Internet Banks of both private and corporate clients, as well as the website, and developed new mobile banking services for smart phones. As the clients helped fine-tune all updates, it could only be anticipated that according to the fresh e-banking study, the simplicity and clarity of e-services by SEB were appreciated the most highly in Estonia, both with regard to the Internet Bank and the website. The greatest development by SEB was made in the field of mobile solutions and innovation, achieving total scores of 69% and 67%, respectively, which were at the same time the highest among all banks,” said Eerika Vaikmae-Koit, SEB’s Head of Retail Banking and Technology.

The Baltic E-banking report analyses the websites, Internet Banks and mobile solutions of the banks operating in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania from the user’s point of view. The study is conducted by independent users who evaluate the e-solutions aimed at a private client in a total of six categories: functionality, clarity, user-friendliness, mobile services, efficiency of customer service and innovation.

In the innovation category, one of SEB’s strengths, for example, was estimated to be the expense planning tool in the Internet Bank (Money Log) and the representation of the bank in various social media channels. With regard to the use of social media solutions, SEB complied with the evaluation criteria one hundred per cent. In case of solutions for mobile phones, the availability of the mobile version of the Internet Bank was assessed, as well as the description of the application or web solution at Android Market or the Appstore, the convenience of transactions, the option for sending notifications to the bank, the availability of helpful information and the security of the solution for the client.

The Baltic E-banking analysis is conducted by Metasite Business Solutions (www.metasite.net), which is a company established in 1998, engaged in management consultations, marketing communication and technological solutions; its clients are companies operating in the field of financial services, telecommunication and energy across Europe.
