OREANDA-NEWS.  April 18, 2012. According to the opinion poll, 31% of foreign investors operating in Ukraine are going to make new investments in the development of their business.

These results of the investment climate in Ukraine were presented at a joint press conference of the head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine Oleksandr Klymenko and founder of Research & Branding Group Eugen Kopatko.

Another 26% of businessmen from foreign countries are considering investing in our country, but they definitely still undecided.

The Head of STS admitted that these findings were a surprise for him. "Initiating this first large-scale study, we did not expect positive results immediately. We will not pursue this goal. For us, the main objective was to find out the status of domestic investment climate. We got it and now can plan our next steps to enhance the attractiveness of our country to foreign investors" - Oleksandr Klymenko said.

According to him, further emphasis will be on liquidation of the obstacles which, according to investors hinder business development in Ukraine. Thus, many research participants expressed the need to further improve the tax system.

"However, in accordance to the results of various opinion polls, the State Tax Service is recognized as the least corrupt. And we achieved this by minimizing the human factor"- said Oleksandr Klymenko.

The head of the STS is sure that all the innovations of the State Tax Service would increase the index of investment activity in Ukraine, which will be reflected in the results of another study.
