Ukraine to Make Price Adjustment for Agricultural Products
OREANDA-NEWS. April 18, 2012. By the results of monitoring of 800 markets in Ukraine and data of chains of wholesale markets of agricultural products on the order for food, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy is going to elaborate a program to forecast the balance of production and consumption of agricultural products and, therefore, control over the price fluctuations of food.
This informed by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Prysyazhnyuk. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy carries out monitoring of 800 markets of Ukraine on agricultural production prices weekly.
"So, the latest results indicate that the minimum price for sugar is 5.50 UAH/kg in the Kirovohrad region, and the maximum - 6.95 UAH/kg in the Cherkasy region. Therefore, we see that currently there is variegation in the regions. This suggests that in some regions the local authorities are not using all the potential that can be used to ensure that a consumer has received the most low prices, and producer - the most high," said Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.
The development of chains of wholesale markets, farmers markets, markets of the Ukoopspilka as well as a visiting trade are contributing to the price adjustment.
