OREANDA-NEWS. May 4, 2012. Belarus saw the consumer price index grow 1.3% over the first 17 days of April 2012 and 6.4% since early this year, the National Statistics Committee told reporters.

The largest increase in retail prices was registered with

beef (except boneless meat) (5.6%), fresh cabbages (5.2%), pork (except boneless meat) (2.9%), alcoholic beverages (3.8%), soft beverages (2.8%), boneless beef, eggs, live fish (1.3-2.1%), margarine canned meat, canned fruits and vegetables, milk and dairy products, wheat flour, biscuits, mayonnaise (0.6-0.9%), petrol (5.5%), footwear, fabrics, hosiery (0.5-0.7%), suburban bus transportation (20%), city transport (17.3%), house maintenance services (12.9%), healthcare vacations (5.6%), utility services (1.6%).

As previously reported, Belarus saw the consumer price index grow 108.7% in 2011, although the initial forecast for 2011 stood at 7.5%-8.5%. Belarus’ inflation forecast for 2012 stands at 19-22%.
