OREANDA-NEWS.  May 14, 2012. PT Pertamina (Persero) in cooperation with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) today hold the communal screening of the movie "Kita Versus Korupsi (We Against Corruption)" in the effort to instill anti-corruption value in young generation in early age, reported the press-centre of Pertamina. 

The event is part of Pertamina's series of events to celebrate the National Education Day. Some 2,000 movie goers, mostly university and high school students, participates in the event.

The movie "Kita Versus Korupsi" is produced in the spirit of supporting the campaign to build anti-corruption culture in family setup. This movie is an omnibus of four short films.

"In celebrating the National Education Day, we are pleased that Pertamina and KPK can hold this communal movie screening for "Kita Versus Korupsi" movie. This event is part of Pertamina's active participation in building anti-corruption culture that has to be implanted in young generation since they are young," Pertamina's President Director Karen Agustiawan said.

The event is hoped to show Pertamina's commitment in becoming a clean and free-of-corruption company, which is inline with business principles run by Pertamina. Although Pertamina is a state-owned enterprise owned fully by the Government, Pertamina is committed to continuously implementing the good corporate governance principles as implemented by public companies and to building healthy business environment with our business partners and other stakeholders.

Since 2003, Pertamina has been committing to implement the Good Corporate Governance (GCG) as the transformation to be the clean and free-of-corruption company. Pertamina's GCG Rating has been increasing from year to year. In 2011, Pertamina's GCG Rating reached 91.85%, which increased from 86.79% in 2010. "This show that the implementation of GCG and anti-corruption activities in Pertamina has been getting better," Karen said.

So far Pertamina has been implementing some anti-corruption initiatives, such as Integrity Principle as the commitment to enforce ethics 24/7, Pertamina Clean Program since 2006, and proactively take preventive action against corruption by stipulating Gratification Guidelines, and setup the Gratification Control Unit in order to regulate gratification receiving, giving, and demanding in every business processes.

In addition, Pertamina runs the Whistle Blowing System (WBS) channel as world-class solution for reporting corruption, conflict of interest, graft, theft, fraud, and other unlawful acts. Pertamina also has signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with KPK regarding the reporting of gratification received by Pertamina staffs, as well as MOU with PPATK regarding the prevention against money laundering crimes.

For the initiatives taken, Pertamina has gained assorted recognitions, including the first place at Anti-Corruption Initiatives Study held by KPK in 2011, the Most Trusted Company 2011 by Swa Magazine and CGPI, and the third place in the Best State-Owned Enterprises GCG Innovation category held by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises in 2011.
