OREANDA-NEWS. June 26, 2012. TNK-BP has been listed as one of the world’s top ten oil and gas companies in terms of occupational safety activities by the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (OGP), reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

Thanks to TNK-BP’s consistent efforts aimed at increasing the level of industrial safety, the main indicators, namely the frequency of events leading to temporary loss of working capacity and registered injuries, has significantly decreased. In 2011, the frequency of registered injuries (the rating’s main indicator) had fallen by more than 20% in comparison to the previous year, thus allowing TNK-BP to enter the world’s top ten oil and gas companies which provide data to OGP.

Elena Kompasenko, Vice President, Health, Safety and Environment, TNK-BP, said “People are the foundation of our company and this is why providing the highest level of industrial safety is one of TNK-BP’s primary tasks. The requirement for rigorous adherence to safety norms and the personal leadership of the management allow us to systematically improve results in this area. However, there is always something to aim for in this sphere – our job can be considered done, only when both us and our contractors reach indicators of zero work-place injuries”.
