Ukraine Attracts International Finances for Upgrading Water Supply
OREANDA-NEWS. July 24, 2012. The Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine is actively engaging the international financial institutions to address the quality of centralized water supply. This was announced by Acting Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Oleksandr Alipov at a meeting of leaders and experts of water supply and wastewater, which was held in Chernihiv.
"We do not have enough money and available capacity to satisfy demand for high quality water for the entire country. Therefore, we are working on other budget and credit programs, attracting international experience. Preference is given to projects that have successfully combined co-financing of credit institutions and local budgets. Thus, the joint project with the World Bank to develop urban infrastructure, through which a water system received USD 80 million success continues is successfully being continued. Projects are being developed with other international financial institutions" - Oleksander Alipov said.
He said the main goal of this project technical upgrading of equipment utility, water supply, with the introduction of energy efficient equipment and technologies.
