OREANDA-NEWS. October 16, 2012. Within framework of a meeting of the Standing Group of Global Energy Dialogue of International Energy Agency (IEA), there was considered the issue of the planned presentation of Energy Policy Review of Ukraine developed by the IEA, including - conclusions and recommendations contained in the Review .

The meeting was held with representatives of IEA member countries, namely: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Britain, Germany, Hungary, Greece, Denmark, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Canada, Korea, Kingdom of Netherlands, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Norway (special agreement), Portugal, USA, Turkey, Finland, France, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, Japan and the European Commission. The Ukrainian side at the invitation of the IEA was represented by a delegation of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine headed by the Director of the Department for European Integration and International Cooperation Natalia Boytsun.

While discussing the Energy Policy Review of Ukraine there was held an exchange of views among the participants of the meeting. Ukrainian delegation thoroughly answered all questions of the countries - members of the IEA. The meeting participants marked positive achievements in the development of energy policy of Ukraine, particularly in implementation of Ukraine's commitments concerning membership in the Energy Community, improve of a situation regarding increasing domestic production of energy, the beginning of GTS modernization and more.

The Energy Policy Review of Ukraine, conducted by IEA - extensive and a thorough work in which, as objectively as possible there are analyzed all aspects of the current Ukraine's energy policy, as well as gave recommendations for further improvement.

In particular, the Review contains recommendations for reduction of energy intensity of Ukrainian industry and energy efficiency increasing, own extraction of energy resources increasing by Ukraine, improving the regulatory framework, investment climate, etc.
