OREANDA-NEWS. December 06, 2012. The Moldovan Embassy to Russia sent the Economic Ministry an informative note on the traffic congestion at some customs terminals at the border with Russia, caused by Moldovan trucks transporting agricultural products.

According to the ministry's information and media communication service, all the customs phytosanitary and veterinary procedures are stopped at the customs terminal Bryansk-Troebortnoe. Also a heavy traffic jam was created at the customs terminal in Klintsy for technical reasons. This is because the customs terminal in Klintsy lacks technical and organisational resources to speed up the enforcement of phytosanitary and veterinary procedures.

According to Russian authorities, all the customs phytosanitary and veterinary procedures have been stopped starting with 21 November 2012. The Moldovan Embassy to Russia, which is further monitoring the situation at the customs terminal Bryansk-Troebortnoe, informed the Economic Ministry that the license activity of the warehouse specialised in customs and phytosanitary procedures at the customs terminal Bryansk-Troebortnoe, expires on 6 December 2012. The information was confirmed by Rosselihoznadzor on its web-page.

According to the informative note, no changes are planned at other customs terminals with Russia as regards the phytosanitary and veterinary control. Also the customs clearance of wine and alcoholic products is further unchanged at the customs terminal Bryansk-Troebortnoe.
In order to avoid traffic jams, the Economics Ministry informs Moldovan economic agents operating trade activities with Russia, of the recent modifications that took place at the customs terminal Bryansk-Troebortnoe and Klintsy, in order to redirect the transport towards other customs terminals.
