Belarus' Foreign Ministry Wants Balanced Foreign Trade
OREANDA-NEWS. The Foreign Ministry of Belarus suggests making sure that imports are economically justified, Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Guryanov said.
To balance the country’ foreign trade, Belarus needs to exercise import control and give first priority to investment import, Guryanov said.
In the meantime, Belarus saw a 40% rise in food imports in January-February, non-foods – up 35%, basic materials, complete parts – up 25%.
The bulk of imports falls on intermediate commodities and consumer goods, Guryanov said.
