At the same time, one of electricity distributors requested to raise prices for electricity for final users which triggered discussions in the country.

Vladimir Filat called on the National Energy Regulatory Agency no to jump to conclusions and examine the situation carefully. He also called Acting Vice-premier, Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar to interfere in this matter.

According to Vladimir Filat, state-owned and private electricity distributors have to realize that Moldova is facing difficulties and to moderate their appetites for gaining profits. Tariffs for electricity have to be approved on the basis on law, but taking into account real conditions.
