Sberbank Announces Launch of its Brand in Croatia
OREANDA-NEWS. April 26, 2013. Sberbank Croatia, a subsidiary of Sberbank of Russia, announces that a flagship branch has been opened in the Republic of Croatia. The flagship bank branch, in Zagreb, offers both retail and corporate clients a full range of the financial services.
From May to July 2013, a number of banking offices will be open, under the Sberbank brand, in the tourist regions of Croatia, including Dubrovnik, Zadar, Makarska, Metkovic, Pula, Rijeka, Split and Sibenik.
Sergey Gorkov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank of Russia, commented: “The development of the operations in Central and Eastern Europe is one of Sberbank’s main priorities and start of the full integration of Sberbank Croatia into the wider Sberbank Group is an important step in this direction. I hope that Russians set to spend their holidays in Croatia this summer will appreciate the opportunity to use the services of Sberbank.”
The sole shareholder of Sberbank Croatia is Sberbank Europe AG, a subsidiary of Sberbank of Russia headquartered in Vienna. The banking group operates a network consisting of nine universal banks in eight countries in Central and Eastern Europe: Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Ukraine.
The rebranding follows the renaming of Volksbank Croatia into Sberbank Croatia and is part of the program of integration and rebranding of Sberbank subsidiaries taking place in Central and Eastern Europe. The Sberbank brand has already been officially launched in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
