PM of Ukraine Commissions Infrastructure Ministry to Upgrade Railway
OREANDA-NEWS. June 28, 2013. At the Government’s session Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov instructed the Infrastructure Ministry to ready propositions concerning gradual replacement and modernization of rolling stock.
Mykola Azarov emphasized these days there had emerged the need to upgrade the rolling stock of railway through its considerable depreciation and for the sake of ensuring necessary supply in passenger conveyance.
“There are objective difficulties: the lack of passenger cars. Four fifth of carriages are exploited more than 28 years. In the nearest years we will have to solve this problem in system. We need to renew minimum 500 carriages year-on-year. Lets’ work in this direction, search for internal reserves and financial instruments to solve the problem. I commission the Infrastructure Ministry to ready propositions concerning gradual replacement and modernization of the rolling stock,” Mykola Azarov has said.
