OREANDA-NEWS. On August 23 at the oil field Boca de Jaruco solemn ceremony on the occasion of starting drilling operations at the oil layer E1 took place.

Contract for carrying out pilot work, follow-up exploration and secondary recovery ambitions at the oil field Boca de Jaruco was signed between "Zarubezhneft" JSC and Cubapetroleo in 2011. Terms of the contract make 25 years. The period of trial works makes 4 years.

Two sections - layer E1, at which the drilling was launched, and layer M, at which three wells are to be drilled, were assigned for pilot works at the oil field.

The results of drilling of well at layer E1 will be decisive for choosing the enhanced oil recovery technology at these sections.

Start of drilling at Boca de Jaruco oil field is one more step in the direction of strengthening and development of the Russian-Cuban cooperation in oil and gas field.
