During the period from 25 January to 25 February 2014, when Federal Passenger Company long-distance trains ran according to an Olympic timetable, it carried more than 608,000 passengers to and from Sochi, including more than 38,000 passengers on branded double-decker train number 104 / 103 Moscow - Adler.

The Federal Passenger Company also laid on two special double-decker trains to transport the 1,000 singers of the United Russian Children's Choir to participate in the closing ceremony of the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.

During the Olympic timetable, the trains made 405 trips. A further 106 trains departed from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Saratov, Ufa, Samara and Chelyabinsk. Federal Passenger Company trains also provided a local shuttle service from Krasnodar, Mineralnye Vody and Rostov to Sochi.

Peak days for travel to the Sochi railway hub were the 2, 6, 12, 14 and 18 February, when 11,000 to 14,000 passengers travelled daily.

The highest number of passenger returning from Sochi in the opposite direction was on 24 February, which 20,000 people leaving the south Russian resort after the Olympic Games.

The Federal Passenger Company has now laid on 161 trains to transport participants and guests at the XI Paralympic Winter Games from 5 to 18 March 2014.

Currently, peak arrival dates in Sochi are expected on 5 and 6 March, while maximum passenger flow departing in the opposite direction should be on 9 and 17 March.
