OREANDA-NEWS. March 24, 2014. Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma, during the meeting with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, emphasized that Latvia is interested in promoting further the economic cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of education, medicine and air traffic.
 
The officials expressed satisfaction over increasing intensity of bilateral relations recently and shared the same opinion that opening of the embassy of Latvia in Abu Dhabi in the first half of 2014 would provide additional impetus for closer contacts. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE stressed that the cooperation in the field of small and medium business and tourism is prospective.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Prime Minister presented an invitation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE to high-level conference in the field of transport to be held on June 3-4, 2014 in Riga.
