OREANDA-NEWS. October 24, 2014. According to the National Bank of Moldova, purchases of currency against MDL on the internal cash currency market decreased 9.1% from the equivalent to USD299.7 million to the equivalent to USD 272.5 million, the sales decreasing 11.2% from USD 124.9 million to USD 110.9 million.

In the total turnover of cash, transactions with EUR were dominant as before and made up USD 196.8 million, being 51.3% of the total turnover, down 14.2% month-on-month. Purchases of EUR declined 14.4% to USD 131.1 million, sales of EUR decreasing 13.9% to USD65.7 million. Purchases and sales of USD shrank 1.7% to USD 100 million month-on-month, making 26.1% of the total turnover.

The purchases grew 0.5% to USD 64.2 million, the sales fell 5.3% to USD35.8 million. Transactions with RUB made up USD 80.8 million, being 21.1% of the total turnover, down 6.6% as compared with the previous month. The purchases of RUB decreased 6.3% to USD 74.3 million, the sales decreasing 9.7% to USD 6.5 million. Transactions with RON made up USD 4.3 million, being 1.1% of the total turnover, down 8.5% as compared with the previous month. The purchases of RON dropped 4.3% to USD 2.2 million, the sales decreasing 12.5% to USD 2.1 million. Purchases and sales of UAH amounted to USD 1.5 million in the reporting period, 0.4% of the total turnover and down 34.8% month-on-month.

Purchases of UAH fell 36.4% to USD 0.7 million, the sales decreasing 33.3% to USD 0.8 million. As compared with August 2014, in September a share of sales and purchases of USD grew 2.1 p.p.; transactions with EUR decreased 2.7 p.p.; a share of transactions with RUB grew 0.7 p.p.; a share of sales and purchases of RON stayed unchanged, transactions with UAH decreased 0.1 p.p.
