OREANDA-NEWS. JSC "Kamchatgeologia" (Petropavlosk-Kamchatsky; a subsidiary of the state-owned holding Rosgeologia) has completed field work on the Tkapravayamsky area planned for 2014. The site is located in the vicinity of the river Pustaya in the Karaginsky region of Kamchatsky Krai.

It is promising location for gold and other mineral resources. The land area is 8 000 sq. m. Kamchatgeologia is carrying out regional exploration and geologic mapping at this location.

The company received the license to carry them out after the tender conducted by the Far-East Mineral Resource Management Department in May 2014. The result of the government contract fulfillment will be a new generation geological chart of 1:200 000 scale. The company specialists are also developing recommendations for future geological exploration work in the area.

The last exploratory work conducted here was over 35 years ago. Kamchatgeologia commenced work at the site in August this year, and expects to complete the execution of the commission by December 2016.

"The site is quite interesting from a geological point of view", says Kamchatgeologia director Pyotr Bulaniy. "We can already draw the conclusion from this season's field work that the site is promising, and could yield lump or fine deposits of gold and platinum. The company's geologists have accomplished a great deal of work here, the poor accessibility of the site notwithstanding. The geologists' group was brought here by helicopter. We made use of horses in our work here, just like in old times."
