OREANDA-NEWS. January 09, 2015. During the meeting between Agriculture and Food Minister of Ukraine Oleksii Pavlenko with US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt, the sides discussed ways and means of access of Ukrainian agricultural products to world markets.

Oleksii Pavlenko has told about changes in the field that are underway and success which has been achieved. The Minister said that he is to establish contacts with agricultural business, create a positive image of an agrarian Ukraine. For this purpose it is scheduled the participation of Ukrainian business and officials of the Agriculture Ministry in thematic international forums, congresses, and so on in the near future.

Ukraine has already had something to surprise, in a good sense, foreign partners. For example, chicken production shows incredible five times growth. This confirms the correctness of reforms and advantage of Ukraine’s European integration.

Geoffrey Pyatt welcomed such progress and said that he believes in the rapid recovery of the agricultural sector of Ukraine "if, for example, the economy and energy sector take years to revive, the season is enough for the agricultural sector."

Minister of Agriculture and Food of Ukraine Oleksii Pavlenko also urged members of different groups to make proposals in order to form new legislative initiatives, primarily to facilitate business. The Agriculture Ministry is ready to close, productive work and will render all necessary assistance to this process.
