OREANDA-NEWS. January 16, 2015. Recently, the internationally known financial magazine The Asset released the name list of “2014 Best Corporate Governance Award”. Agricultural Bank of China Limited (ABC) won the top award “Best Corporate Governance Award – Platinum”, by virtue of excellent financial performance and corporate governance capacity. This is the third time in a row following the awards won in 2012 and 2013.

Taking corporate governance as the cornerstone for guarding against risks, increasing return and realizing sustained development, ABC has been dedicated to development and improvement of corporate governance systems and mechanisms. It has been holding to the strategic vision of building a first-class commercial bank. In the past five years after the joint-stock reform, ABC has followed the governance guideline of modern commercial banks and kept improving the corporate governance operation mechanism and enhancing the standard operation and effectiveness of corporate governance. As a result, it has established a corporate governance system featuring “rational decision, clear strategy, efficient execution, prudential operation, effective incentive and forceful supervision”.

The “Best Corporate Governance Award” campaign is organized by The Asset of Hong Kong, aiming to honor enterprises with excellent performance in financial position, corporate governance, social responsibility, environment protection responsibility and investor relations. It is one of the most credible awards in Asia.  ABC has won the award in three consecutive years, demonstrating its achievements in corporate governance, financial indicators, social responsibility, environment protection responsibility, investor relations and many other aspects, as well as its international appreciation and recognition.
