Roland Berger: role of integrator in the passenger mobility in Russia
In her speech, Maria defined the role of passenger mobility integrator in Russia.
A round table discussion focused on the importance of developing all mobility elements in a consistent way and creating a mobility integrator. That would mean integrated planning, information, ticketing, etc. for passengers. In this case, the integration must cover both public transport and services like taxi, car sharing, bicycle sharing, etc.
Maria also talked on significance of interregional railways and airlines that could become such an integrator in view of objective prerequisites. She provided examples of European rail operators actively implementing integrated mobility services.
Finally, Maria emphasized the importance of integrated mobility development for all management levels – international, national, regional, and municipal.
There was a lively discussion at the round table – representatives of airports, airlines, and railways exchanged on opportunities and ways to create such an integrated service; they also highlighted constraints they are already facing. Despite multiple issues identified (such as legal framework, risk sharing, cost components, in particular cost sharing, etc.), all participants understand the relevance of development in this direction and are ready to cope with the issues in a constructive way – that is the key.
